About the role

We are currently seeking a Business Development Manager for Queensland. Our office is based in Mackay, however the successful applicant can be based anywhere in Queensland.

Reporting to the Regional Manager QLD, this role will see you responsible for ensuring the effective implementation of marketing and sales policy within a defined area as well as the development of sales opportunities with a view to increase market share.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Achieving sales objectives and targets in accordance with sales area plan.
  • Develop sales and call plans for regular visits with customers to become familiar with their operations.
  • In conjunction with technical teams, complete conveyor inspections, audits, analysis and solution recommendations.
  • Maintaining major company accounts personally.
  • Controlling the sales organization and distribution of products within the state of Queensland.
  • Representing ContiTech Australia to present and potential customers.
  • In conjunction with the commercial teams, prepare quotations & manage tender submissions for customers in response to their requests.
  • Responsible for new business development and the expansion of existing services conveyor belt sales within the organization.

About You:

To be successful in this role you will need:

  • Previous experience as a BDM
  • Ideally you have good commercial knowledge of the products and services used on Conveyor Belts and Systems.
  • Experience in the sales or service of U/G Mining equipment or materials handling systems preferred, but not essential
  • Proven experience in technical selling or with technical aptitude is desired
  • Experience building relationships with Customers so that you understand their requirements.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and leadership qualities which will contribute to sales teamwork.
  • Team player with strong work ethic and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Possess the initiative and confidence in dealing with customers, having a strong focus on customer service.
