R & D Engineer

Contingency Staffing is hiring for a Research and Development Engineer for a manufacturing client in South Carolina. This position reports to the Director of Technology and is key in identifying and growing plastic packaging solutions for clients. This is a relocation opportunity and requires the individual to be onsite.

Responsibilities:

• You will have strong knowledge in plastic materials and additives to help drive R & D.
• You will provide solutions to new and existing packaging challenges.
• Be a key contributor in originating new ideas to help support the R & D product innovation and technology strategy.
• Ensure technical integration of projects working with suppliers and internal teams.

Qualifications:

• B.S. in Chemistry, Polymer Science or Plastics Engineering
• 5+ years experience with plastics, resins and coatings
• Processing experience in consumer based food packaging
• Processing experience in extrusion, thermoforming and injection molding

Base salary range is $105K to $120K annually with full relocation.
