Job Purpose
The Sales Manager Energy Storage Fire Systems (ESS) - China will be responsible for driving the sales and business development of fire alarm systems within the energy storage industry in China.
This role requires close collaboration with key business partners, marketing, manufacturing, customer service, and senior management to maximize growth, profitability, and long-term return on investment.
The sales strategy begins with understanding customer needs before they become challenges. Our client is committed to delivering customer success through their deep expertise in fire alarm and releasing control systems.
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of engagement with both existing and new customers, developing strong relationships and delivering tailored solutions that meet specific business requirements. You will define and execute growth strategies for key accounts while aligning with overall business objectives and leveraging your technical and commercial expertise to communicate the companys value proposition effectively.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support Engineered System Distribution (ESD) channel partners
- Engage directly with end-users and provide ongoing support
- Deliver technical and application support to customers and partners
- Identify opportunities and manage the sales cycle from lead to close
- Articulate and promote the Potter value proposition
- Utilize CRM tools (preferably Salesforce) to manage opportunities and reporting
- Develop account plans and execute targeted sales strategies
- Negotiate terms and close deals effectively
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and stakeholders
Required Skills & Abilities
- Fluent in Mandarin (essential); proficiency in English is an advantage
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with integrity and professionalism
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities
- Effective time management and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Proven ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage multiple tasks
- Understanding of B2B sales, distribution networks, and regional business practices
- Strong listening skills with the ability to identify and respond to customer needs
- Ability to work independently and travel extensively across China and the wider region
- Proven sales management experience, ideally in technical or industrial markets
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 6 years experience in sales, ideally within the fire protection, life safety, or industrial sectors
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience in sales or account management
- Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce preferred) and customer service principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently
