Our client is an integrated energy company. The Company's segments include Upstream, Downstream, and Corporation and others. The Upstream segment carries out oil and natural gas exploration and production activities and manages its project portfolio. The Downstream segment includes covers the supply and trading of crude oil and other products, oil refining and marketing of oil products, and the production and marketing of chemicals. This role sits within its Trading business which encompasses consist of supplying crude oil and products for Refining systems and other needs, the marketing of crude oil and their own products, their maritime transport, and the management of product coverage in the financial derivatives markets. 

PURPOSE

For the role of Heavy Products Trader, we seek an experienced Trader with good abilities to work in teams and business-oriented approach. The selected candidate will be responsible for all the range of heavy products, with especial focus in both LSFO and HSFO. The heavy products role includes physical and derivatives tasks, along with blending and storage, and knowledge of hedging and refining. The position also demands strong analytical capabilities and experience in business development activities. The selected candidate will be part of a multicultural local team in Singapore, and global player in coordination with Madrid and Houston offices.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Individual will be a member of a dynamic Global Heavy Products Team in Europe, America, and Singapore.
  • Individual will develop, negotiate, and conclude fuel oil and its components and feedstocks sales/purchases.
  • Deep focus on Asia Fuel Oil Heavy Products market and knowledge of market flows / and activity of relevant refiners
  • Experience in oil blending and storage management.
  • Good risk management - Design hedge strategies for physical positions. Knowledge of price/pricing concepts & structure
  • Perform all necessary activities to comply with company standards within a highly controlled environment governed by external regulatory requirements as well as internal controls.
  • Communicate and develop remote business relationships internal and external.
  • Network and maintain relationship with market players i.e., producers, refiners, traders, and end-users to keep abreast of market developments and opportunities.
  • Technical lead role and able to develop new business for the desk. Active participation in a team P&L/value generation.
  • Participate on the ongoing digitalization of the company.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in economics. Finance, Business or Engineering
  • At least 7 years experience in Oil Trading Business (cargo or paper experience, only Bunker will not be considered)
  • Experience in fuel oil or feedstocks trading will be highly valued.
  • Deep understanding on risk management and paper trading.
  • Ability to work in a multi-cultural fast-paced work environment.
  • Flexible, proactive, creative mind result-oriented and customer-focused
  • Extensive contacts in Fuel Singapore market and/or Asia Fuel Oil Market (Korean & Japanese market knowledge will be highly valued)
  • Strong knowledge of Asian streams, components, and flows
  • Deep understanding of shipping / chartering activity. Including floating storage operations and economics.
  • Self-sufficient and able to build a business from the scratch.
  • Strong team player Xdesk collaboration Is a must.
  • Ability to lead trading decisions at the desk.
