We are looking for a Technical Market Development Specialist II to play a pivotal role in advancing niobium-based steel technologies across international markets. This is a highly visible, client-facing role where you will partner with leading steel producers and industry stakeholders to drive performance, innovation, and growth.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will act as a trusted technical advisor to steel mills and end-users, delivering impactful solutions that enhance product quality, optimize production processes, and unlock new market opportunities. You will lead technical projects, support strategic initiatives, and contribute to the global development and adoption of advanced steel technologies.
This position offers extensive international exposure, with frequent travel—particularly across Asia and emerging markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical support to steel mills, customers, and end-users to improve quality, reduce costs, and enhance productivity
- Lead and coordinate technical development projects, including planning, execution, and budget management
- Identify market needs and growth opportunities, translating insights into actionable strategies
- Build strong relationships with customers and partners, acting as a key technical and commercial interface
- Drive technology transfer and development in niobium-containing steels, including promotion, implementation, and documentation
- Collaborate with universities, research institutes, and industry partners on innovation initiatives
- Travel extensively to engage directly with clients, particularly across India and Southeast Asia
What We're Looking For:
- Degree in Materials, Metallurgy, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
- Master's or PhD in Materials or Metallurgy (highly desirable)
- Minimum 8 years' experience in steel production environments, with strong exposure to:
- Steelmaking, continuous casting, hot rolling, and finishing
- Welding and heat treatment processes
- Proven expertise in steel characterization, including microstructure analysis and mechanical testing
- Hands-on experience working with rolling mills and shop floor operations
- Strong understanding of microalloyed steels, particularly involving niobium (knowledge of titanium and vanadium is a plus)
- Fluent in English, with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
