Ultrasonographer
Job Description:
The Registered Sonographer is responsible for delivering efficient and high-quality ultrasound services to patients across all settings served by the Imaging Services Department. This role involves patient care, exam preparation, and support for radiologists through accurate data compilation and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Verify patient and procedural information prior to exams.
- Prepare patients for ultrasound procedures and educate them and their families about the process.
- Perform and process ultrasound exams efficiently, ensuring accuracy in imaging.
- Transmit reports to physicians and compile organized data for radiologists.
- Maintain exam rooms by cleaning, restocking, and preparing them for the next patient.
- File films, organize patient data, and assist with scheduling as needed.
- Transport patients to and from imaging rooms when necessary.
- Participate in Hospital and Departmental educational programs to maintain clinical competencies.
Qualifications:
- Licensure/Certification:
- Certification through ARDMS or ARRT with at least two advanced certifications.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required within 7 days of hire.
- Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work collaboratively in a clinical setting.
- Shift Details: No on-call responsibilities after 11 PM.
Must-Haves
- Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with at least two advanced certifications.
- Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 7 days of hire.
- Experience in providing ultrasound services and familiarity with imaging department policies and procedures.
