Clinical Director, OB & NICU

 Job Description:

The Clinical Director is responsible for leading and managing the department's operations and resources to achieve both departmental and organizational goals. This role ensures high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and efficient use of resources while fostering a culture of professional growth and excellence in clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards aligned with the organizations objectives and ethical standards.
  • Oversee departmental operations, including patient care delivery, service level determination, and compliance management, to ensure quality and performance objectives are met.
  • Manage staffing activities, including recruitment, orientation, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and continuing education programs.
  • Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets to ensure operations remain within allocated funding.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audits to maintain regulatory compliance.
  • Create an environment that promotes professional development and growth among team members.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into departmental operations and clinical protocols to enhance patient outcomes.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field required. Masters degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Active RN license in the state of employment.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a clinical leadership role.
  • Skills: Strong leadership, strategic planning, and budgeting capabilities.

Preferred Certification:

  • Nurse Executive Certification (NE-BC or NEA-BC) or equivalent healthcare leadership certification.

Must-Haves

  1. Bachelors degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration (Masters degree preferred).
  2. Active RN license in the state of employment.
  3. Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a clinical setting.
  4. Strong expertise in department budgeting, staffing, and operational planning.
  5. Knowledge of evidence-based practices and clinical protocols.

Nice-To-Haves

  1. Certification in healthcare leadership or clinical specialties (e.g., Nurse Executive Certification NE-BC or NEA-BC).
