Lead Airworthiness Excellence Across the Fleet
A leading regional airline operating the largest ATR 72-600 fleet in the region, complemented by Dash-8 aircraft, is seeking an experienced General Manager – Continuous Airworthiness Management Group (CAMG). This executive role is responsible for the strategic leadership, regulatory compliance, and operational performance of the airline's entire continuing airworthiness function.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, you will lead the CAMG division, ensuring the fleet meets the highest standards of safety, airworthiness, and regulatory compliance across 26 destinations in Papua New Guinea.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Continuing Airworthiness Management Group.
- Oversee aircraft maintenance control, ensuring compliance with CASA PNG-approved programmes and airworthiness standards.
- Lead airworthiness reporting, MEL oversight, defect rectification, and maintenance planning functions.
- Manage maintenance forecasting, planning, and scheduling for maximum fleet availability.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, liaising with CASA PNG on all airworthiness matters.
- Maintain and oversee all aircraft technical records and continuing airworthiness information systems.
- Provide expert technical and compliance advice to senior management and the CEO.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the CAMG team including Deputy GM, planners, and technical records staff.
- Manage CAMG budgets, resources, and operational KPIs.
- Liaise with MRO providers, lessors, and regulatory authorities.
- Oversee lease induction, aircraft acceptance, and redelivery activities.
- Support audit programmes, quality assurance, and continuous improvement across the CAMG division.
- Promote and embed a strong safety culture and Safety Management System across the organisation.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 10 years' aviation experience with at least 5 years in senior CAMO leadership.
- Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (LAME) or equivalent airworthiness qualification preferred.
- Formal qualifications in Aircraft Engineering or Aeronautical Science.
- Extensive experience in continuing airworthiness management within a commercial airline environment.
- Strong knowledge of CASA PNG, EASA, FAA, or equivalent regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with ATR 72 and/or turboprop aircraft highly desirable.
- Proven track record in airworthiness compliance, regulatory liaison, and audit management.
- Strong knowledge of leasing agreements, aircraft induction, and redelivery processes.
- Excellent command of English with proven senior leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with aviation maintenance management software (AMOS or equivalent).
