Charter Manager

Location: Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea
Salary: AUD 95,000–105,000 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Charter Manager to lead and grow its charter division.

This is a senior commercial role responsible for managing existing charter contracts, securing new business, ensuring operational delivery, and driving profitability across the charter operation.

Working closely with Flight Operations, Ground Operations, Maintenance and Commercial teams, you will ensure all charter services are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with contractual obligations while developing new opportunities for business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the airline's charter business and contract portfolio
• Develop and execute the charter growth strategy
• Manage existing corporate and government charter contracts
• Identify and secure new charter opportunities
• Negotiate commercial agreements and contract renewals
• Monitor contract profitability and operational performance
• Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and contractual obligations
• Coordinate charter schedules with Operations and Flight Operations
• Build long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders
• Prepare commercial reports, forecasts and performance analysis
• Conduct market research and identify new business opportunities
• Drive continuous improvement across charter operations

Requirements

• 5–10 years' experience in aviation commercial or charter management
• Strong background in contract management and commercial negotiations
• Experience developing aviation charter business
• Excellent leadership and stakeholder management skills
• Strong financial and commercial understanding
• Ability to manage multiple projects and contracts simultaneously
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Highly Desirable

• Previous airline charter management experience
• PNG or emerging market aviation experience
• Tertiary qualification in Business, Aviation Management or related discipline
