As they continue to expand their operations, we are seeking an experienced and capable Sheet Metal Mechanic Foreman to join their dynamic team.

Role and Responsibilities: As the Sheet Metal Mechanic Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the successful execution of sheet metal projects. Your expertise and leadership will ensure the timely completion of projects while upholding the highest standards of quality and safety. Key responsibilities include:

  1. Project Supervision: Lead and supervise sheet metal crews on various projects, including installations, fabrication, repairs, and maintenance tasks.
  2. Scheduling and Coordination: Develop and manage work schedules, allocate tasks, and coordinate resources to ensure efficient project progress. Collaborate closely with project managers to meet project timelines.
  3. Quality Control: Ensure all sheet metal work adheres to industry codes, standards, and company guidelines, maintaining exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.
  4. Safety Oversight: Enforce strict compliance with safety protocols and practices, conducting regular safety meetings, and fostering a safety-conscious environment among team members.
  5. Material Management: Oversee the procurement, tracking, and efficient use of sheet metal materials, tools, and equipment required for projects, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory.
  6. Technical Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical challenges or obstacles encountered during projects, implementing effective solutions to maintain project momentum.
  7. Client Communication: Maintain clear and open communication with clients, project managers, and other stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  8. Team Development: Mentor and train junior sheet metal staff, cultivating their skill development and contributing to a collaborative team environment.
  9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records, including project reports, time sheets, material usage, and other relevant documentation.
  10. Continuous Improvement: Contribute to process enhancements and operational efficiencies, sharing insights and recommendations with the management team.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional trade certification or vocational training in sheet metal fabrication preferred.
  • OSHA 10 Certificate preferred.
  • An active Virginia DPOR issued Journeyman and/or Masters License for your special trade preferred.
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience as a sheet metal foreman or in a similar leadership role within the sheet metal industry.
  • Proficiency in sheet metal fabrication techniques, installation methods, and industry best practices.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal materials and different types of metals, codes, regulations, legislation, policies/procedures installation and safety protocols.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Ability to pass drug screenings.
  • Ability to pass background checks, obtain security clearances and work on jobsites where minor children are present.
  • Proficiency in using sheet metal tools and equipment.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, with clean driving record.
  • Must have own tools of the trade.
  • Willingness to travel is a requirement.
  • Dedication to safety and quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach.
  • Flexibility to work in various environments and adapt to changing project requirements and/or extended work hours (nights, weekends) when necessary.
