Position Overview:

Connect Talent Solutions, one of Hampton Roads fastest growing staffing firms is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Utility Worker (Dishwasher) to join our team at our high-end restaurant. The primary responsibility of the Utility Worker is to ensure the cleanliness and organization of all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and service wares. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the overall cleanliness and smooth operation of our restaurant's kitchen.

Responsibilities:

1. Dishwashing and Sanitation:

- Operate commercial dishwashing equipment efficiently and effectively.

- Wash, sanitize, and stack all dishes, glassware, utensils, and cooking equipment according to established standards.

- Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of waste and recycling materials.

- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the dishwashing area at all times.

2. Equipment Maintenance:

- Conduct regular cleaning and maintenance of dishwashing equipment to ensure optimal functionality.

- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate supervisor for timely resolution.

- Keep an inventory of cleaning supplies and promptly notify management of restocking needs.

3. Collaboration and Communication:

- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure the availability of clean dishes and utensils for food preparation and service.

- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to ensure a seamless flow of operations.

- Assist in other kitchen duties as assigned, including food prep, storage organization, and general cleaning tasks.

4. Safety and Hygiene:

- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and practices, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

- Follow guidelines for safe lifting, carrying, and handling of heavy kitchen equipment and supplies.

- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) while performing job duties.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

- Previous experience working as a dishwasher or utility worker in a fast-paced restaurant or similar environment is desirable.

- Understanding of proper sanitation procedures and knowledge of food safety regulations.

- Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.

- Strong physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.

- Excellent organizational and time management skills.

- Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
