Position Overview:
Connect Talent Solutions, one of Hampton Roads fastest growing companies, is seeking a skilled and experienced Commercial Floor Technician to join our team. As a Commercial Floor Technician, you will be responsible for providing high-quality cleaning services for both commercial and residential properties. Your primary focus will be on cleaning and maintaining various types of carpet and flooring, ensuring that they are restored to their original condition and meet our clients' satisfaction.
Responsibilities:
1. Floor Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Perform thorough cleaning and maintenance of carpets, rugs, and various types of flooring, including hardwood, tile, vinyl, and laminate.
- Utilize appropriate cleaning methods, equipment, and products to remove stains, dirt, and debris from carpets and floors.
- Vacuum, sweep, mop, and scrub floors to ensure cleanliness and restore the appearance of surfaces.
- Identify and address specific floor treatment requirements, such as stain removal, waxing, buffing, or polishing.
2. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate and maintain commercial-grade floor cleaning equipment, such as carpet extractors, scrubbers, buffers, and steam cleaners.
- Ensure all equipment is properly cleaned, maintained, and stored after each use.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or issues to the appropriate supervisor for repair or replacement.
3. Client Service and Communication:
- Communicate and coordinate with clients to understand their specific cleaning needs and expectations.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the cleaning results.
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with clients and colleagues.
4. Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines to minimize accidents and injuries.
- Follow proper handling and storage procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Stay up to date with industry best practices and new cleaning techniques to deliver efficient and effective services.
5. Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of completed work, including service reports, cleaning schedules, and client feedback.
- Report any damages, repairs, or issues encountered during cleaning activities to the appropriate supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a floor technician or similar role, preferably in a commercial or residential setting.
- In-depth knowledge of different floor types, cleaning techniques, and appropriate cleaning products.
- Proficient in operating and maintaining commercial-grade floor cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy equipment and move furniture as necessary.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required.
