Production Manager

The incumbent will be responsible for managing the continuous safe and reliable production operations of the terminal, including the berthing and unloading/reloading of ships and running the plant to reliably deliver gas to the downstream pipelines to meet the nominations of our customers.

The incumbent shall be responsible for, but not limited to, the following scope of tasks and duties:

  • Lead Supervisors and Technicians in the Production Team to safely and reliably operate the terminal facilities.
  • Work with Maintenance Manager and Technical Services Manager to ensure maintenance and shutdown activities are safe, planned, and executed in a timely fashion with minimum production capability.
  • Optimize plant operations from the throughput, use of energy and minimization of losses perspectives based on experience and with engineering team support.
  • Establish and approve shift rosters and relief schedules for Production Team, authorize Hot, Cold, Confined Space and Vessel Entry Permits-to-Work and issue daily instructions on deployment of online plant, process conditions and shutdown and maintenance activities.
  • Develop, review and establish Standard Operating Procedures for production processes.
  • Provide leadership for emergency responses and make command decisions to prevent emergency incidents from escalating and affecting safety of employees, contractors or the community or the integrity and safety of the Terminal.
  • Ensure the training of Production Team including on the job training is completed for commissioning phase.

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering.
  • At least 10 years experience in similar roles at liquefaction facility or 15 years experience in complex hydrocarbon processing or oil refinery, preferably with exposure to cryogenic processes (e.g. ethylene, LPG, ammonia, air separation).
  • Subject matter expert in the operation and good understanding of the maintenance of equipment such as cryogenic heat exchangers, refrigerated storage tanks, cryogenic pumps, large reciprocating gas compressors, reciprocating engine driven generators & gas turbine drivers, electrical switchgear up to 66kV, process control systems, field instrumentation, fire & gas systems, shutdown systems, security systems, gas metering and gas chromatographs.
  • General knowledge of the operations and maintenance of related equipment such as centrifugal pumps, tanks, valves, ship unloading arms, hydraulic systems, fire protection systems, diesel engines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, ship mooring systems, seawater intake screens, cranes and lifting devices.
  • Proficient in the Permit to Work Systems, equipment preparation for maintenance, gas testing and emergency response and high proficiency in DCS and CMMS applications.
  • Extensive experience with management of change process and administering daily work instructions; permit to work systems, safe preparation for maintenance, troubleshooting and shutdown planning and execution.
  • Conversant with the safe control of ship berthing, use of loading arms and Simultaneous Operations.
  • Familiar with quality management, risk based inspection, preventive maintenance systems and concepts in management of spare parts and consumables.
  • Working knowledge of environmental concerns and regulations.
  • Excellent leadership skills with proven capability in staff development with adaptability to work in multinational and multicultural environment. Highly adaptable with experience working in a multinational and multicultural environment.
