Workshop Machinist
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Conventional Machinist to operate automated machines to produce parts, components and finished products. The ideal candidate must have at least 3 years experience in conventional turning, milling drilling and cylindrical grinding.
Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and job orders to determine specifications and tool requirements
- Set up and operate automated machines, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling, programming and adjusting speeds and feeds
- Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of automated machines
- Verify conformance of machined parts to specifications using precision measuring tools such as micrometer and dial indicators
- Make necessary adjustments to automated machines to ensure proper operation
- Ensure efficient and safe operation of automated machines at all times
- Maintain accurate production records and assist with inventory control
- Inspect products to ensure that they meet quality standards
- Perform inspection for in-process and outgoing sub-parts and products
- Monitor & ensure conformance of Machining parts to Drawing Specifications
- Ensure products meet customer expectations based on companys objectives
- Support QC inspection at other stations as and when required
Requirements:
- NITEC / Higher NITEC
- 3+ years of experience as a Conventional machinist
- Proficient in the use of automated machines, including setup and operation
- Knowledge of machining materials and cutting tools
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
