Electrical Engineer (System Studies)

 Job Description:

REQUIRED WORKING SKILLS/QUALIFICATION/CERTIFICATION

  • University Graduate with on Technical Major
  • More than 10 years in similar position or similar field
  • Knowledge of Engineering standards, codes, and regulations, capability to analyze dedicated Project requirements in terms of local standards and codes, and to identify proper implementation actions.
  • Capability to perform Electrical Systems calculations and studies.
  • Capability to design electrical systems (power generation and distribution, grounding, lighting, etc.)
  • Knowledge of Discipline engineering design criteria, methods, and workflows from the conceptual phase up to the site engineering phase. Capability to define the technical documents set based on Project quantities and scope of work.
  • Capability to perform and coordinate Project engineering documents production activities and to check and review design documents, prepared either internally or by Vendors Engineering design and document review.
  • Capability to perform technical evaluation of vendor bids with reference to Discipline items, bulk material, and subcontracted work packages, according to corporate standards and procedures.
  • Knowledge of tools related to 2D and 3D modeling activities.
  • Experience in Electrical Engineering environment with ETAP skills.
  • Conversant in load flow study, short circuit study, motor starting and acceleration study, transient study, arc flash study, harmonic study, and relay protection and coordination study for large and complex projects in the Oil and Gas Industry.

BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Review Client technical documentation and requirements
  • Take part in the definition of electrical engineering requirements.
  • Prepare Project design criteria for the electrical system.
  • Define the configuration of the electrical system and the single-line diagram.
  • Perform electrical system calculations and studies (e.g., power demand, load flow, short circuit, transient
  • stability, motor starting) to define the equipment rating.
  • Prepare relay and metering schemes, protective relays coordination study, and setting tables.
  • Prepare harmonic study and arc flash study.
  • Define the functional philosophies for the electrical system control (power management, synchronization,
  • load shedding, reacceleration, and restarting) and control system architecture.
  • Prepare technical documentation (e.g. specifications, data sheets) for electrical equipment and materials
  • Perform power cable sizing.
  • Check and review technical documentation according to Project and Saipem procedures.
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions and bids for technical evaluation.
  • Perform check and review of Vendor technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support to Procurement in purchasing and to Post orders in expediting and testing.
