Renewable - Wind Specialist

 Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Undertake studies from prefeasibility to FEED stage for large utility scale wind farm.
  • Performing site suitability assessment, wind resource, energy yield assessments and LCOE modelling for wind farm projects,
  • Undertake Technical Due Diligence of operational wind farms
  • Undertake wind farm level array modelling and simulations, wake interactions, wave modelling.
  • Re-evaluation of wind conditions/updating to the current state of the art at the existing sites for turbine upgrades, re-powering and site-specific issues.
  • Analysis of wind measurement campaign, compared to long-term meteorological data, e.g., data from adjacent weather stations, to assess whether the site will be suitable for the erection of a wind farm.
  • Defining site specific turbine configurations and operational modes for the wind turbines.
  • Wind data processing and analysis.
  • Verification of environmental conditions in wind farms according to the Standard IEC 61400-1.
  • Prepare site suitability reports.
  • Design of wind turbine layouts: micro siting and optimization.
  • Analysis of the terrain and orographic / roughness maps.
  • Performing site specific load calculations
  • Develop design specifications and functional requirements.
  • Support in tendering processes such as calling of quotations, discussion with contractors/vendors and the evaluation of tender submissions.
  • Support in project execution and commissioning activities and attend meetings with clients and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree (Hons) or Masters degree in Engineering from a University recognized by PEB (Singapore)
  • Min 8 years of Experience in the design of Wind farm and wind resource assessment
  • Expertise in any one of Wind farm design tools such as WAsP, Wind Pro, Windographer is must
  • Experience and familiar with ANSYS CFD simulation
  • Experience in the design and application of the BESS with Wind turbine generation, complying with applicable local codes & standards will be an advantage
  • Strong writing skills, verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to be an independent problem solver
  • Team player and ability to work with and manage clients and stakeholders.
