 Job Description:

Connect Energy is seeking on behalf of a start up commodities and supply chain company to look for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join the team in Singapore. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, reporting, analysis, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance and accounting, along with a deep understanding of the commodities trading industry.

Responsibilities:

  1. Financial Planning and Analysis:

    • Develop, implement, and manage financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health of the business and recommend appropriate actions.
  2. Financial Reporting:

    • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
    • Generate insightful management reports and present financial performance to senior management.
  3. Supply Chain Financial Management:

    • Collaborate with supply chain teams to understand and analyze costs related to procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
    • Evaluate cost structures and identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce expenses within the supply chain.
  4. Risk Management:

    • Implement and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
    • Monitor market and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities in the commodities market.
    • Assist in developing risk management strategies and hedging activities related to commodity price fluctuations.
  5. Cash Flow Management:

    • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for daily operations and strategic initiatives.
    • Coordinate with treasury functions to optimize cash management and financing arrangements.
  6. Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
    • Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
  • Proven experience (10 years) as a Finance Manager or similar role within the commodities trading or supply chain industry.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills.
