Finance Manager
Job Description:
Connect Energy is seeking on behalf of a start up commodities and supply chain company to look for an experienced and detail-oriented Finance Manager to join the team in Singapore. The Finance Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, reporting, analysis, and strategic planning. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in finance and accounting, along with a deep understanding of the commodities trading industry.
Responsibilities:
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Develop, implement, and manage financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and identify areas for cost optimization and revenue enhancement.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the financial health of the business and recommend appropriate actions.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Generate insightful management reports and present financial performance to senior management.
- Supply Chain Financial Management:
- Collaborate with supply chain teams to understand and analyze costs related to procurement, transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
- Evaluate cost structures and identify opportunities to streamline processes and reduce expenses within the supply chain.
- Risk Management:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to mitigate financial and operational risks.
- Monitor market and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities in the commodities market.
- Assist in developing risk management strategies and hedging activities related to commodity price fluctuations.
- Cash Flow Management:
- Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for daily operations and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate with treasury functions to optimize cash management and financing arrangements.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a collaborative and results-driven work environment.
- Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- Proven experience (10 years) as a Finance Manager or similar role within the commodities trading or supply chain industry.
- Strong knowledge of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems; advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex financial information clearly and concisely.
