Jetty Connection & Maintenance Technician
Job Description:
Education:
- Technical diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- at least 5 years of experience in a similar role within the LNG, hydrocarbon gas, or oil and gas industry. Hands-on experience with jetty equipment, transfer systems, and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities:
- Safely connect and disconnect LNG transfer arms or hoses between LNG carriers and onshore storage facilities.
- Monitor the alignment and secure attachment of transfer arms to ensure no leaks or hazards during the transfer process
- Conduct regular inspections of jetty equipment, including transfer arms, hoses, loading arms, and safety systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all jetty-related equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with jetty systems and coordinate repairs as needed.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures during connection, disconnection, and maintenance activities.
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards for LNG and hydrocarbon gas transfer operations.
- Participate in safety drills and emergency response exercises to maintain readiness for potential incidents.
- Coordinate with ship crews, terminal operators, and control room personnel to ensure smooth and efficient transfer operations.
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to report issues, share updates, and ensure alignment on operational activities.
- Maintain detailed logs and records of all connection, disconnection, and maintenance activities.
- Monitor real-time data from control systems to ensure that transfer operations are running smoothly and efficiently.
- Use monitoring equipment to detect any signs of leaks, pressure drops, or other abnormalities during transfer processes.
- Participate in ongoing training programs to stay updated on the latest industry practices, safety standards, and technological advancements.
- Mentor and train junior technicians and new hires on proper procedures and safety protocols.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair complex systems.
- Proficiency in using monitoring and diagnostic equipment.
- Understanding of LNG and hydrocarbon gas transfer processes and equipment.
- In-depth knowledge of safety protocols and regulatory requirements for LNG and hydrocarbon gas operations.
- Ability to identify potential hazards and take proactive measures to mitigate risks.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to coordinate with various stakeholders.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records of operations and maintenance activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address technical issues and operational challenges. Ability to think critically and make sound decisions under pressure.
