Insulator/Lagger Lead

 Job Description:

Education:

  • Technical diploma or degree in a related field.

Experience:

  • More than 5 years of experience in insulation/lagging work within the LNG, oil and gas, or industrial sector.
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience is highly desirable.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of insulator/lagger technicians.
  • Plan, assign, and manage daily work activities, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to high standards.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to team members on insulation techniques and safety practices.
  • Install various types of insulation materials on pipes, vessels, tanks, and other equipment in LNG facilities to control temperature, prevent energy loss, and ensure safety.
  • Apply insulation to both hot and cold surfaces, ensuring proper fit and adherence to specifications.
  • Use a variety of insulation materials, including fiberglass, mineral wool, foam, and other specialized materials designed for LNG applications.
  • Inspect existing insulation systems for damage, wear, or deterioration.
  • Perform repairs or replace insulation as needed to maintain system efficiency and safety.
  • Conduct routine maintenance to ensure long-term performance and integrity of insulation systems.
  • Ensure all insulation work complies with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Identify potential hazards and implement appropriate safety measures to mitigate risks.
  • Participate in safety meetings and training sessions to stay current with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct quality checks on insulation installations to ensure they meet project specifications and standards.
  • Document and report any issues or deviations from the project plans and take corrective actions as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and inspections conducted.
  • Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of insulation work into overall project timelines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure alignment on project goals.
  • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to supervisors and project managers.
  • Monitor inventory levels of insulation materials and tools.
  • Order and replenish supplies as needed to avoid work delays.
  • Ensure proper storage and handling of insulation materials to prevent damage or degradation.
  • Develop and implement training programs for new hires and existing team members.
  • Stay updated on the latest insulation technologies, materials, and techniques through continuous learning and professional development.
  • Mentor junior technicians and provide opportunities for skill development and career growth.
  • Proficient in various insulation techniques and materials used in LNG facilities.
  • Strong understanding of insulation requirements for cryogenic applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to motivate and develop team members.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices related to insulation work.
  • Ability to identify potential hazards and implement effective safety measures.
