Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to lead all pharmacy operations within an acute‑care hospital environment. This role oversees clinical services, regulatory compliance, budgeting, staffing, and strategic initiatives that support safe, effective, and high‑quality medication management.
The ideal candidate is a hands‑on pharmacy leader who thrives in a collaborative hospital setting, excels at building strong teams, and is committed to advancing patient care through evidence‑based practice and operational excellence.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits.
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for all hospital pharmacy operations.
- Oversee medication management, clinical protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and mentor pharmacy staff, including hiring, onboarding, evaluations, and performance management.
- Manage departmental budgets, financial performance, and resource allocation.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, accreditation standards, and internal policies.
- Develop and implement departmental goals, policies, and quality standards.
- Promote a culture of safety, professional growth, and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with medical staff, nursing, and hospital leadership to optimize patient care.
- Integrate evidence‑based practices into pharmacy operations and clinical workflows.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from an accredited school.
- Active Utah Pharmacist license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Leadership experience in a hospital or health‑system pharmacy setting.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, regulatory standards, and medication safety.
Preferred Skills:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD)
- Experience with budgeting and financial oversight.
- Familiarity with accreditation surveys (TJC, DOP, CMS)
- Strong leadership, team‑building, and strategic planning skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Previous Director‑level or Manager‑level pharmacy leadership experience.
- Experience with clinical program development and pharmacy automation/technology systems.
