About the job Director of Human Resources – Healthcare (People Services)
Our client is seeking an experienced Director of Human Resources (People Services) to lead all HR functions and serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team. This leader will shape workforce culture, drive employee engagement, oversee HR operations, and support more than 200 employees in a high‑impact, community‑focused healthcare environment.
This is a key leadership role for an HR professional who thrives in a hands‑on, relationship‑driven setting and wants to make a meaningful impact in rural healthcare.

Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Analyze workforce data to identify trends and recommend proactive solutions.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and talent development initiatives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO and C‑Suite on workforce planning, culture, and organizational development.
- Lead all People Services/HR operations, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
Employee Relations & Labor Relations
- Lead or support union negotiations and maintain positive labor relations.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high‑performing workplace culture.
- Oversee employee relations, investigations, performance management, and conflict resolution.
HR Operations & Compliance
- Manage HR budgets, audits, compliance, and reporting.
- Ensure adherence to HR regulatory requirements (FMLA, ADA, Title VII, wage & hour)
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning for all hospital departments.
Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor one HR team member.
- Establish service standards, workflows, and best practices for HR operations.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Bachelor's degree.
- Strong employee relations background.
- 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
- Experience supporting leaders and staff across multiple departments.
Preferred Skills:
- HR certifications (PHR, SPHR, SHRM‑CP/SCP)
- Previous experience in a healthcare environment.
- Experience working with unions or labor relations.
