Our client is seeking a skilled Conventional Machinists to join a hands‑on manufacturing environment. This role focuses on setting up and operating manual machine tools—including engine lathes, milling machines, drill presses, and grinders—to produce or repair precision metal components. The ideal candidate has strong blueprint‑reading ability, experience holding tight tolerances, and a consistent commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities:
- Tooling setup — Select, install, and adjust tooling, fixtures, and attachments.
- Safety compliance — Follow all shop safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Maintenance — Perform routine machine upkeep and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Machine adjustments — Make in‑process adjustments to maintain accuracy and part quality.
- Blueprint interpretation — Read and interpret mechanical drawings, dimensions, and tolerance requirements.
- Quality inspection — Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and other precision instruments.
- Manual machining operations — Set up and operate manual lathes, mills, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment.
- Precision machining — Machine components to exact specifications using turning, milling, drilling, boring, threading, and facing operations.
Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- High school diploma or GED.
- Blueprint reading and understanding of tolerances.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
- Commitment to safety, quality, and reliable work habits.
- Ability to machine parts to tight tolerances with consistent accuracy.
- Precision measurement using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauges.
- Manual machining experience (engine lathe, manual mill, drill press, grinder)
Nice-to-Haves:
- Basic CNC exposure.
- Tool‑and‑die background.
- Welding or fabrication experience.
- Vocational/technical training in machining.
- Advanced manual machining — 3+ years of experience.
- Experience machining custom, prototype, or repair parts.
- Ability to perform basic machine maintenance or minor repairs.
- Knowledge of metals such as steel, stainless, aluminum, brass, bronze.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Work safely around moving machinery and wear required PPE.
