Our client is seeking an experienced Senior ALM Auditor to lead complex, high‑visibility audits covering liquidity risk, interest rate risk, balance sheet strategy, and the firms ALM governance framework. This role provides independent assurance over Treasurys ALM processes, evaluates model governance and usage (not model validation), and assesses compliance with key regulatory expectations including IRRBB, LCR/NSFR, SR 11‑7, and related supervisory guidance.
As a senior member of the Internal Audit team, you will scope, execute, and oversee end‑to‑end audits; deliver credible challenges to Treasury, Finance, and Risk leadership; and help shape the ALM audit plan. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong judgment, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
Audit Planning & Execution
- Contribute to the annual audit plan for ALM‑related areas.
- Lead end‑to‑end ALM audits, including planning, scoping, fieldwork, testing, and reporting.
- Produce high‑quality audit reports with clear, defensible conclusions and actionable recommendations.
- Present findings to senior management and deliver constructive challenge to Treasury, Finance, and Risk leaders.
ALM Risk & Governance Assessment
- Evaluate governance, model usage, assumptions, data lineage, and control design/effectiveness across ALM processes.
- Assess Treasurys adherence to risk appetite, limits, escalation protocols, and regulatory expectations.
- Review liquidity risk management practices, including LCR/NSFR, liquidity stress testing, and contingency funding planning.
- Review interest rate risk management practices, including IRRBB, duration/gap analysis, scenario analysis, and stress testing.
Issue Management & Stakeholder Engagement
- Track remediation progress and validate closure of audit issues.
- Provide credible challenges to senior stakeholders and defend audit conclusions with clarity and confidence.
- Support continuous improvement of the ALM audit methodology and risk assessment processes.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Strong financial mathematics and quantitative modeling background.
- Proficiency with Excel‑based and system‑based ALM modeling tools.
- High‑level judgment in evaluating controls, risk exposures, and model reliability.
- Deep knowledge of liquidity risk, interest rate risk, balance sheet optimization, and ALM methodologies.
- Experience with duration/gap analysis, scenario and sensitivity testing, stress‑testing frameworks, and IRRBB guidelines.
- Strong understanding of LCR, NSFR, liquidity stress tests, and supervisory expectations (e.g., SR 10‑1, SR 11‑7, Basel IRRBB)
- Experience using data analytics, automation, or visualization tools to enhance audit testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, or related field (Masters preferred)
- Professional certifications strongly preferred: CFA, FRM, CPA, CIA, CAMS, or similar.
- 7–10+ years in ALM, Treasury, Liquidity Risk, or Internal Audit within a bank, global financial institution, or regulatory body.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex technical concepts for executive audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge senior stakeholders and defend audit conclusions.
