Our client is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Accountant to support payroll and benefits accounting activities for the North America market. This role reports to the North America Accounting Manager and plays a key role in accurate payroll‑related financial reporting, month‑end close, and internal controls.

Work Model: Hybrid (1–2 days onsite)
Contract Duration: 12 months
Requirements:
- Partner with the Payroll team as needed.
- Prepare manual intercompany payroll invoices.
- Support internal and external audit requests.
- Generate ad hoc analyses and reports as needed.
- Review and analyze monthly payroll variance reports.
- Prepare month‑end close journal entries, including payroll, benefits, deferred compensation, and employee programs.
- Investigate variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain internal controls and perform controls testing per corporate policy.
- Evaluate existing processes and recommend improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and internal controls.
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
- Experience with SAP, Blackline, and MS Excel (pivot tables, formulas)
- Experience supporting multi‑entity payroll environments is a plus.
- At least 1–2 years of payroll or payroll‑related accounting experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and journal entry preparation.
- Familiarity with ADP GlobalView payroll exports (no payroll processing required)
- 3–5 years of accounting experience, including hands‑on journal entry preparation and month‑end close.
