Our client is seeking a Surveying Manager to lead surveying operations for civil and transportation projects, overseeing multiple field crews and office technicians while ensuring high‑quality deliverables, regulatory compliance, and strong client relationships. This position requires a licensed Professional Land Surveyor with extensive experience in DOT and municipal work, advanced CAD proficiency, and a proven record of supervising teams and managing project delivery.

Requirements:

  • Enforce QA/QC standards across all survey products and workflows.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, billing, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local surveying regulations.
  • Direct and coordinate daily activities of multiple field crews and office staff.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, including DOT and municipal agencies.
  • Support business development through proposal input, client meetings, and relationship building.
  • Mentor and coach survey staff through performance planning, training, and regular one‑on‑one sessions.
  • Oversee boundary, right‑of‑way, topographic, utility corridor, and construction-related surveys.
  • Perform and review survey calculations, legal descriptions, plats, and final deliverables.
  • Utilize MicroStation/OpenRoads, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D for survey plan preparation and data processing.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • 12+ years of professional surveying experience.
  • Strong background in DOT and municipal surveying projects.
  • In‑depth knowledge of federal, state, and local surveying regulations.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Minimum 5 years in a supervisory or management role overseeing field crews and office technicians.
  • Advanced proficiency with Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads, InRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with subsurface utility locating/designating (SUE)
  • Familiarity with LiDAR, aerial mapping, or sUAS workflows.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in surveying, geomatics, or civil technology.
  • Experience supporting proposals or contributing to business development.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical work week of 45–50 hours.
  • Primarily office-based with periodic field visits.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. when supporting field operations.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions such as heat, cold, or uneven terrain.
