Our client is seeking a Cost Accountant/Manufacturing Accounting Analyst to support accounting functions in a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role focuses on cost accounting, financial reporting, and manufacturing accounting processes while supporting transactional accounting and cross-functional finance activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform cost accounting activities including standard costing, labor and overhead allocation, inventory valuation, and COGS analysis.
  • Assist with manufacturing financial reporting including monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.
  • Prepare journal entries related to in-transit inventory, royalties, sales adjustments, RMA, and zero price transactions.
  • Support variance analysis and cost monitoring for manufacturing operations.
  • Maintain ERP systems (IFS, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) for accurate financial data.
  • Collaborate with AP/AR teams for processing invoices, wire/ACH payments, and resolving discrepancies.
  • Provide backup support to other accounting team members as needed.
  • Assist with annual external audits and ensure compliance with internal controls.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding accounting processes; minimal administrative support duties as required.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

  • Cost accounting experience.
  • Manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications (CPA/CMA) are a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related field.
  • 2+ years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience.
  • Proficiency with ERP/accounting systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently or collaboratively.
  • Strong understanding of cost accounting principles and manufacturing financial processes.
  • Previous exposure to automotive manufacturing or other manufacturing environments preferred.
