Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant with healthcare or regulated industry experience to prepare financial statements, manage multi‑entity accounting, and support organizational financial operations. This role works closely with the CFO and VP of Finance and is critical to financial reporting, physician compensation, and regulatory compliance.

Location: Jamaica, NY

Responsibilities:

  • Perform reconciliations for all affiliated entities.
  • Handle special projects assigned by leadership.
  • Coordinate with external auditors, including workers compensation audits.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Oversee general accounting functions and provide guidance to accounting staff.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements with support schedules.
  • Record journal entries, including multi‑entity allocations and intercompany transactions.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy, including month-end and year-end close activities.
  • Assist with budgeting and allocations of physician corporate costs to affiliated entities.
  • Support physician compensation and contract administration for employed and 1099 physicians.
  • Prepare financial data for corporate tax return filings and complete government and financial questionnaires.

Qualifications/Must Haves:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in healthcare, physician groups, or regulated healthcare environments.
  • Experience with multi‑entity accounting, financial statement preparation, and month-end/year-end close.

Preferred Skills:

  • CPA or actively pursuing CPA.
  • Experience with physician compensation models.
  • Familiarity with hospital or healthcare financial operations.
