Our client is seeking an experienced Commercial Loan Officer to develop, grow, and manage a high‑quality commercial lending portfolio. This role is ideal for a relationship‑driven lender who thrives in a community‑focused financial institution and enjoys building long‑term partnerships with business members.

You will serve as a primary point of contact for commercial clients, originating new business, managing an existing portfolio, and ensuring an exceptional member experience throughout the lending lifecycle.

Requirements:

Business Development & Relationship Management

  • Source, develop, and grow commercial lending relationships through proactive outreach, networking, and community engagement.
  • Maintain and expand an existing commercial loan portfolio while identifying opportunities for additional products and services.
  • Represent the institution in the local business community to strengthen brand presence and referral networks.

Loan Origination & Portfolio Management

  • Solicit, structure, and originate commercial loans, ensuring complete and accurate financial information is obtained.
  • Serve as the central point of contact for applicants throughout the loan process, ensuring timely communication and follow‑through.
  • Monitor portfolio performance, manage renewals, and maintain strong credit quality in alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Stay informed on market trends, competitive products, and regulatory changes impacting commercial lending.

Internal Collaboration & Compliance

  • Partner with credit, underwriting, and operations teams to ensure smooth processing and delivery of commercial loan products.
  • Cross‑sell relevant financial products and services to deepen member relationships.
  • Adhere to all internal policies, lending standards, and applicable state and federal regulations.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Proven success in a sales‑driven, production‑oriented role.
  • Occasional local travel for business development and client meetings.
  • 3–5 years of experience in commercial or business lending within a financial services environment.
  • Existing commercial loan portfolio or demonstrated ability to bring established business relationships.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial lending products, credit analysis, and regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
