About the job Industrial Maintenance Technician II – Manufacturing (1st Shift)
Our client is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to support a high‑volume manufacturing environment by performing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC‑related maintenance on production equipment. This role is responsible for troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive/predictive maintenance to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all machinery.
This position requires strong multi‑craft skills, the ability to work independently, and confidence making decisions that impact equipment uptime and production flow.

Requirements:
Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Install, maintain, and repair manufacturing equipment and supporting systems.
- Use electrical/electronic testing equipment to identify faults and verify repairs.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings.
- Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on production machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic PLC‑related issues.
Tools & Technical Work
- Perform welding, brazing, and cutting as needed for equipment repair.
- Safely operate hand and power tools (drill press, band saws, grinders, hydraulic press, etc.)
- Review unfamiliar equipment and quickly learn its mechanical and control systems.
Operational Support
- Train and support other maintenance team members as needed.
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established maintenance procedures.
- Make informed decisions regarding repair parts, replacements, and maintenance needs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce scraps, improve equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement.
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain housekeeping standards in work areas.
- Follow all safety standards including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, and PPE requirements.
- Adhere to applicable quality and environmental standards (e.g., IATF 16949, ISO 14001/45001)
Qualifications/Must-Haves:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to train and support junior maintenance personnel.
- Strong decision‑making, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools used in industrial maintenance.
- Five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong troubleshooting ability across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a manufacturing plant environment.
- Technical degree or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on industrial maintenance experience.
Work Environment:
- Manufacturing plant setting with required PPE (hearing protection, eye protection, steel/composite toe footwear)
