Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - PCU (Progressive Care Unit)

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a temporary to permanent position in Des Moines, IA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in critical care and be able to provide exceptional patient care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Provide direct patient care in the PCU, including monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and performing diagnostic tests

- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients

- Monitor and document patient progress, including any changes in condition or response to treatment

- Educate patients and their families on disease management, medication regimens, and follow-up care

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records

- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Qualifications:

- Active RN license in the state of Iowa

- Minimum of 2 years of experience in the Progressive Care Unit

- BLS and ACLS certifications

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Flexibility to work night shifts and weekends as needed
