Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Labor and Delivery Nurse to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this critical role, you will provide exceptional care to expectant mothers and their newborns during labor, delivery, and the immediate postpartum period. You will work in a fast-paced environment, ensuring the safety and well-being of both mother and child while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the health status of mothers and infants throughout labor and delivery.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families regarding the birthing process.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.
- Assist in the delivery of infants, including performing necessary interventions during emergencies.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal care.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in accordance with hospital policies.
- Educate patients on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the labor and delivery unit.
Job Types: Travel nursing, Contract
Pay: $65.52 per hour
Expected hours: 36 per week
Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery nursing is preferred.
- Strong skills in patient care, particularly in high-stress situations.
- Knowledge of working with patients with disabilities is a plus.
- Familiarity with esthetic laser treatment is beneficial but not required.
- Experience in primary care or toddler care can enhance patient interactions.
- Proficiency in sonography is advantageous for monitoring fetal health.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II Trauma Center is preferred.
- Background in ophthalmology can be beneficial for comprehensive patient assessments.
