The role is offered on a remote basis with travel to the clients site in the North East of Scotland the once or twice a month for collaboration and discovery sessions.

Role Purpose

  • To help build the future of Natural Language Processing (NLP) and machine learning as our clients Senior Data Scientist!
  • Youll lead advanced initiatives focused on OpenAI, Azure ML, and machine learning operations.
  • Guide the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of algorithms and predictive models.
  • Collaborate closely with diverse teams and clients, ensuring alignment with company and client goals, prioritizing safety, quality, and performance.
  • Our client would also love this person to mentor and guide junior team members, fostering skill development and collaboration.

What youll be doing

  • Leading the design and develop state-of-the-art NLP models using OpenAI technology to meet business requirements.
  • Integrate, deploy, and maintain machine learning models in production using Azure ML and advanced ML Ops techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients to translate complex data into actionable strategies, providing valuable insights.
  • Test and optimize models and algorithms for accuracy, efficiency, and robustness.
  • Provide support for technical queries and troubleshoot machine learning-related challenges.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Engage in knowledge sharing, mentorship, and collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
  • Stay ahead in the data science field by monitoring industry trends and pursuing professional development opportunities.

What you'll bring to the role

  • Interpersonal Skills: Build strong relationships and foster collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Proven problem-solving aptitude with a background in machine learning, OpenAI, NLP, and Azure ML.
  • Technical Skills: Expertise in programming languages like Python or R; familiarity with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Management Skills: Capacity to oversee intricate projects, meet deadlines, and juggle individual and collaborative responsibilities.
  • Experience in safety or quality context is advantageous.
  • Mentoring Skills: Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior team members, encouraging growth and learning within the team.
