About the job IT Support & infrastructure Engineer【Computacenter Japan】
Computacenter is now seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support & Infrastructure Engineer to join our dynamic Shared IT team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in desktop support and infrastructure support, with 4-7 years of relevant experience. This role requires travel to various work sites, so flexibility and adaptability are key. Support to be provided across a multitude of industries including finance, pharmaceutical and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
<IT Support Engineer responsibilities>
- Provide L1 & L2 desktop support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues according to formal procedures and best practice.
- Escalate complex issues to the dedicated L3 teams when required.
- Install, configure, and maintain desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, and software.
- Local (onsite) Support.
- Hardware configuration of workstation or system (bar code reader, label printer, network equipment, etc.).
- Monitor and troubleshooting for Telephone issues.
- Ensure timely resolution of support requests and maintain accurate documentation of issues and solutions using ticketing system.
<Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities>
- Lifecycle management and inventory management for IT Infrastructure hardware and software, Server, Server Rooms, Storage, Network and CR Facilities
- Inspection & Testing of IT equipment like switch, router, firewall along with Customer Global team.
- Arrange Repair or replacement of hardware with vendors as needed
- Oversee activities of outside service/product vendors including preparing contract papers, requesting for POs, contract management
- Maintenance of IT Infra documentation (including SOP updates)
- Keep physical network up and running (Wired & Wireless) and report network and connectivity issues to local and global management.
- Setup, configuring LAB & Production Systems, when requested
- Coordinate with Help-Desk Team in troubleshooting and follow up on infra related topics when escalated.
- Manage access rights for Windows (AD & local) and software.
Other responsibilities
- Coordinate and collaborate with customers global teams for incident resolution.
- Coordinate with external vendors for scheduling, quotations and invoicing.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for IT processes and procedures.
- Generate and submit work reports as required, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
- Assist with project management and projects and take lead on tasks as required.
- Travel to different work sites as required to provide on-site support on both a scheduled and ad-hoc basis.
Requirements:
- 4-7 years of experience in desktop support, IT infrastructure support.
- Experience working with incident ticketing management system.
- Willingness to travel to multiple work sites.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Japanese (business level, JLPT N2).
- Strong technical skills and knowledge of desktop and infrastructure support.

- Leadership experience, with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members.
- Project management experience, with a proven track record of successfully managing IT projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Experience working closely with overseas IT departments.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- CCNA certification
Work Location:
Based out of Computacenter office in Mita, Tokyo.
This role will require periodic travel to various sites within Tokyo, as well as sites in Saitama or other locations.
Language Skills:
Must be bilingual with minimum JLPT N2 level reading/writing/speaking skills.
