We are seeking a hands-on and bilingual IT professional to coordinate and lead local infrastructure operations and project execution across Japan. While the core infrastructure design and configuration are managed by global teams (network, server, cloud), this role will be the key onsite leader for physical implementation, vendor coordination, and local execution of both global and Japan-led projects.

This position blends operational oversight, project management, and physical IT support across multiple locations, including HQ, factory, and data center environments.

Key Responsibilities:

- Oversee vendor work for maintenance, inspection, cabling, labeling, and onsite repairs

- Handle second-level incident response and root-cause investigation (including physical recovery when necessary)

- Monitor infrastructure environments (including uptime of circuits and connectivity), coordinating global and local efforts as needed

- Conduct regular inspections and housekeeping of server rooms and data centers

- Maintain and update documentation such as rack/floor layouts, network labeling, and hardware tracking

- Manage infrastructure-related inventory, including stocktaking, replenishment, and deliveries

Local Project Leadership & Coordination

- Lead locally owned infrastructure projects such as office relocations, hardware refresh, layout redesign, or new facility planning

- Plan and support Japan-side implementation of global projects (e.g. OS upgrades, security updates, policy rollouts)

- Gather local requirements and translate them into actionable project plans

- Coordinate pilot testing of new procedures or infrastructure improvements with selected users

- Manage schedules, risks, communications, and execution across internal and external stakeholders

- Support AV systems and event IT setups for meetings, town halls, and internal conventions

Global Team Collaboration

- Act as the liaison between Japan sites and global IT teams (network, server, cloud, security)

- Participate in global meetings and provide status updates from the Japan side

- Facilitate smooth implementation of global infrastructure strategies and changes

- Coordinate with global security teams for vulnerability remediation and awareness initiatives

Vendor & Procurement Management

- Engage with vendors for quotations, delivery schedules, and maintenance coordination

- Manage procurement operations: PO requests, invoice processing, approvals, and payment tracking

- Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations

Security & Compliance Support (with Global & EUS teams)

- Assist with incident response including device isolation and vulnerability patching

- Participate in physical asset disposal in accordance with compliance policies

- Support awareness campaigns and compliance testing (e.g. phishing simulations, audits)

Occasional Support for End-User IT (as needed)

- Provide supplemental support for end-user setups (e.g. monitor placement, docking stations)

- Assist in IT onboarding activities (e.g. initial setup, walkthroughs)

- Offer backup support during internal campaigns or cross-functional IT initiatives

Additional Flexibility & Leadership

- Take ownership of ad hoc infrastructure tasks as assigned by team leads

- Contribute to infrastructure improvement proposals and efficiency initiatives

- Support periodic testing of new tools or processes and provide feedback to global teams

Requirements:

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in IT infrastructure coordination, field support, or site operations

- Experience in leading small to mid-size projects with multiple stakeholders

- Native-level Japanese and business-level English (spoken/written) for global communication

- Comfortable with on-site work and travel between multiple domestic locations

- Familiar with vendor management and procurement workflows

- Ability to work independently, multitask, and take initiative

Required Skills:
