Details of the Role:
The Overhead Crane Technician is responsible for the technical maintenance and troubleshooting of the thermal galvanizing installations at Limburgse Galvanisatie in Maasmechelen.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Performing recurring maintenance on installations (burners, overhead cranes (70%), extraction systems, monorail systems, immersion baths, zinc kettle, etc.).
- Troubleshooting and resolving electrical or mechanical faults on the installations, mostly overhead cranes
- Developing solutions to minimize breakdowns and reduce downtime as much as possible.
- Organizing the technical on-call service.
- Replacing parts
- Advising management on technical optimizations and supporting the implementation of these improvements.
- Maintenance = 65%
- Troubleshooting = 30%
- 5% production support (mainly restarting operations after issues)
- 50% electrical faults and 50% mechanical faults.so50/50 split between mechanical and electrical tasks
- Cleaning duties
Background/experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in technical maintenance and troubleshooting of installations in an industrial environment, with proven experience in supervising technical staff.
- Experience with thermal galvanizing installations is a plus.
- No fear of heights.
- 33% PLC-related work (recent investment in PLC-controlled machines)
- Basic knowledge of overhead cranes, monorails, and electricity is essential

- Work schedule: shift system (6:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00)
- Occasional Saturday work during busy periods
