Job Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled and reliable Insulation-Cladding Worker to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing thermal insulation and applying protective metal cladding to mechanical systems such as piping, vessels, ductwork, and equipment. This work is essential for ensuring energy efficiency and mechanical protection in industrial and commercial environments. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in both insulation application and sheet metal cladding fabrication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Measure, cut, and install insulation materials on mechanical systems (piping, ductwork, tanks, etc.)
  • Fabricate, cut, and install metal cladding (aluminum, stainless steel, galvanized steel) over insulation
  • Interpret and work from technical drawings, isometric diagrams, and project specifications
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment safely and effectively
  • Apply vapor barriers, adhesives, sealants, and mechanical fasteners to complete installations
  • Ensure insulation and cladding meet industry standards and site-specific requirements
  • Remove and replace old or damaged insulation and cladding as needed
  • Work safely in various environments, including at heights and in confined spaces
  • Maintain tools and work areas in a clean, organized, and hazard-free condition
  • Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet project deadlines efficiently

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
  • Proven experience in insulation and cladding installation, preferably in industrial or commercial settings
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and mechanical drawings
  • Knowledge of insulation materials such as mineral wool, fiberglass, foam glass, and cellular glass
  • Skilled in metal cutting, bending, and forming techniques
  • Physically capable of lifting materials, climbing ladders, and working in challenging positions
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (preferred)
  • Certification in insulation (e.g., NIA, union apprenticeship, or trade school) is an asset

Working Conditions

  • Frequent work in industrial and outdoor environments
  • Exposure to varying temperatures, dust, noise, and other typical construction conditions
  • Use of PPE (personal protective equipment) is mandatory
  • May involve travel to multiple job sites and occasional overtime as project demands require
