Infrastructure Engineer

Our client is seeking an upgrade for their Symantec Management Console, currently operating on version 8.6. The existing console is running on two Windows Server 2012 R2 VMs hosted on VMWare. To facilitate the upgrade, the client plans to create two new VMs on VMWare and update the operating system to Windows Server 2022. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting an initial discovery session to assess the current SMC environment. Subsequently, they will then implement the latest version of SMC on the new VM's and OS, and migrate the data from the old SMC to the new version.

This would be delivered fully remotely and the successful candidate will be required to support us on a scoping call with the customer to determine exact timeframes for completion, from week commencing 27th May.

The Role:

• Conduct an initial discovery/review of the current environment to ascertain whether the Symantec Task server is actually being used.
• Implementation of the latest version of Symantec Management Console
• Migration of the data/additional settings and apps from the old SMC to the new installed version.

The Person:

• Previous, demonstrable experience in a similar infrastructure role
• Hands on experience with Symantec Management Console installation and migration.
