Our client is looking for a Cisco Network Consultant, specifically with CCIE accreditation, to deliver post sales design and engineering for Cisco's data centre platforms, with focus on Nexus 9000 deployments managed by Nexus Dashboard Fabric Controller. You will need to be at Network consultant level with design, implementation and troubleshooting.
This role involves providing advanced post-sales design and engineering services for Ciscos Open Networking Data Center platform, with a strong focus on Cisco Cloud Networking solutions. Responsibilities include designing and implementing robust network architectures utilizing EVPN, VXLAN, IP routing protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, eBGP), Multicast, QoS, and leaf-spine topologies. The role emphasizes automation of network configuration and provisioning using Python and tools like Ansible or Chef. Key tasks include deploying and managing Cisco Nexus Dashboard, developing macro- and micro-segmentation strategies, and conducting bug reviews while recommending optimal hardware and software versions. The position requires troubleshooting and resolving complex network issues related to configurations, routing, performance, software bugs, and hardware failures. Additionally, it involves collaborating with customers to ensure smooth implementations, providing advanced support for virtualized environments such as VMware vSphere and RedHat OpenShift/OpenStack, and maintaining thorough documentation of designs, workflows, and best practices. Strong communication skills are essential to deliver exceptional service and support.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Cloud Networking platforms, including the Nexus Dashboard and Cisco Nexus 9000 series switches, and should hold a Cisco CCNP Data Centre certification, with preference given to those with Cisco CCIE Data Centre credentials. This role demands deep expertise in network design and engineering, particularly with EVPN, VXLAN, and related protocols, as well as advanced automation skills using Python and tools like Chef or Ansible. Practical experience with PyATS or similar frameworks, coupled with strong proficiency in NX-OS API and NX-API, is essential. The candidate must also possess comprehensive knowledge of macro- and micro-segmentation techniques, a proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues, and familiarity with virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and RedHat OpenShift/OpenStack. Strong command of CLI, excellent documentation skills for tracking tickets and follow-ups, and exceptional verbal communication and customer service abilities are crucial for success in this role.
