Job Openings Data Program Manager

About the job Data Program Manager

Data Product Owner
Own the data product roadmap, map data flows across systems, and lead hands-on data governance — bridging business processes and technical execution, not just coordinating them.

Full-Time · Remote LATAM | Based in LATAM | English B2+ | 4+ Years Experience | Mid-Senior Level

About the Role
One of Committed Staff's clients is looking for a Data Product Owner to own the direction and quality of their data products. This person will map data end-to-end across systems, cross-reference sources, and translate business processes into clear data models — working hands-on with SQL and databases rather than only coordinating others. They'll lead data governance practices and ensure the data itself is accurate, well-defined, and usable. A great fit for someone who understands the business but is just as comfortable getting into the execution — not a project manager, but a builder who owns the "how."

What Success Looks Like
Data that flows correctly between systems, is well governed, and is trusted by the business. A Product Owner who can open a query, trace a mapping, and explain both the technical reality and the business impact — without needing a translator.

How You'll Work
Location: Remote · LATAM
Schedule: U.S. Business Hours
Language: English B2+

Key Responsibilities
Data Mapping — Map data flows system to system, identifying sources, transformations, and destinations across the data landscape.
Data Governance — Define and enforce governance practices: data quality, lineage, standard definitions, and access control.
Hands-On Execution — Write and review SQL directly to explore, validate, and troubleshoot data, not just delegate the analysis.
Business Translation — Translate business processes into clear data requirements for engineering and analytics teams.
Roadmap Ownership — Define and prioritize the data product roadmap, aligned to real business needs and outcomes.
Documentation — Document data dictionaries, mappings, and business rules for each data domain under ownership.

Requirements

Required:

  • 4+ years of experience in a data-focused Product Owner, Data Analyst, or hybrid data/product role.
  • Advanced SQL: complex joins, subqueries, window functions, and query optimization.
  • Solid experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or similar).
  • Proven experience mapping data flows and integrations across systems (ERP, CRM, data warehouse, APIs).
  • Experience in data governance: quality, lineage, cataloging, and standard definitions.
  • Deep understanding of business processes and how they translate into data structures.
  • English B2 or higher — able to work fluently with U.S.-based stakeholders.

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with BI tools: Power BI, Looker, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools or data pipelines.
  • Knowledge of data modeling frameworks (dimensional modeling, entity relationships).

Tools & Technologies
Core stack: SQL, Relational Databases, Data Modeling, Data Governance
Advantageous: Power BI, ETL/ELT, Python, Data Catalogs

You're the Right Fit If You Are
A hands-on builder: You don't stop at defining requirements — you open the query, check the join, and confirm the data is actually right.
A process-to-data translator: You understand how a business process becomes a data structure, and you can map it end to end.
Governance-minded: You know that data without governance isn't an asset, it's a liability. You build the frameworks that keep it trustworthy.
Not a project manager: You care about outcomes, not just timelines. Execution and ownership matter more to you than status updates.
