We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join a high-performing corporate finance team. This role will be responsible for leading core general ledger functions, overseeing monthly close activities, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and managing the accounting staff. The Accounting Manager will report directly to the Brand Controller and contribute to financial reporting, audit readiness, and internal control development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of general ledger accounting
  • Supervise and support accounting staff to ensure timely month-end close and reporting deadlines
  • Review staff-prepared close entries, including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accruals, deferred rent, and corporate credit card (AMEX) entries
  • Liaise with AR, AP, Billing, and Finance teams to address operational inquiries
  • Conduct balance sheet account reviews and general ledger analysis to ensure data accuracy
  • Maintain an organized and up-to-date accounting documentation and filing system
  • Prepare or review audit schedules, conduct research, and respond to audit-related inquiries
  • Assist with the preparation of year-end tax schedules
  • Lead the intercompany reconciliation and month-end close process
  • Support ancillary reporting and Hyperion trial balance uploads
  • Serve as a backup for other functions within Shared Services as needed
  • Participate in and support ad hoc projects and special requests
  • Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred
  • 5-7 years of accounting experience, including consolidation and intercompany eliminations
  • At least 2 years of experience leading an accounting team
  • Proficiency in large ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Intacct, NetSuite, or Maconomy
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, FASB, and SEC reporting and disclosure requirements
