About the job Senior Media Billing Specialist
We are seeking a Senior Media Billing Specialist to lead and optimize the media billing process within a dynamic and fast-paced financial operations team. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, efficient, and timely handling of all billing activities related to media buys. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical capabilities, in-depth knowledge of media billing systems, and a proactive approach to identifying process improvements. This position also supports month-end close, audit readiness, and mentorship of junior team members.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee and manage the end-to-end media billing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in invoice generation, reconciliation, and payments

Audit and review media invoices for proper coding and compliance with contractual terms

Investigate and resolve discrepancies between media buys, invoices, and payment records in collaboration with finance, media planning, and vendor teams

Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and industry standards

Generate and analyze billing reports, providing insights and recommendations for process optimization

Support month-end and year-end close activities, including preparation of accruals and financial reports

Lead and contribute to process improvement initiatives aimed at increasing operational efficiency

Train and mentor junior billing specialists, promoting standardization and best practices in billing and reconciliation

Assist in audit preparations, ensuring completeness and accuracy of billing documentation

Work cross-functionally with internal teams, vendors, and external partners to streamline billing operations and address escalations
Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred)

35+ years of experience in media billing, finance, or accounting within a media agency, marketing firm, or advertising company

Strong familiarity with media billing systems and financial workflows

Proficiency with platforms such as Mediaocean, Strata, NetSuite, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar

Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs

Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities

Effective communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder collaboration

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines

Experience in process improvement and training junior team members is a plus
