Based in Christchurch, they are seeking a motivated and passionate individual to join their diverse team.

Within a team of highly skilled IT professionals, you will be a key liaison, connecting the development team with clients in New Zealand's exciting energy market. You will have the opportunity to apply conceptual thinking and generate fresh ideas to enhance their offerings. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Serving as a key liaison, introducing the company's energy market platform to customers and providing expert advice on their products.
  • Identifying new requirements, mapping them to existing or new functions and processes, ensuring continuous development aligned with customer needs.
  • Assisting clients in customising and optimising business processes.
  • Potentially performing minor programmatic adjustments and configurations or effectively guiding the development team.
  • Conducting workshops covering the company's energy market platform and product-independent specialist topics within the energy sector.
  • Utilising your analytical abilities to understand customer needs and translate them into technical requirements.

Ideally, your background will include:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Maths, or a related technical field.
  • Academic or workplace experience in software development or a strong understanding of software products and development processes.
  • Familiarity with software systems modelling and knowledge of relational databases and SQL (ideally Oracle SQL or PL/SQL).
  • Experience with automation tools and DevOps principles (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines, Linux).
  • Strong customer orientation and excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage directly with customers.
  • The ability to identify and gather new requirements from customers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A preference for a fast-paced, flat-structured work culture.
  • An understanding of the energy industry and the legal framework of the energy market (desirable).

To be eligible, you must be based in New Zealand and be a New Zealand citizen, resident, or have the right to work in New Zealand and therefore hold a current valid visa. Willingness to travel within New Zealand as required is also important.
