About the job Head of Credit Risk

Role Purpose:

Identify, measure, assess, monitor and control the credit risks of the bank in accordance with the banks risk appetite. Lead the team to perform effective management of credit risk, work as second line of defense independent of front line, and guide front line for balancing the risk taking and achieving business target.

Support senior management in credit risk related decision making and strategy setting.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the banks credit risk management framework and implementation thereof.
  2. Review and enhance credit risk management policies to cope with new strategic planning, business development, regulatory requirement changes, external and internal auditor requirements. Furthermore, establish a testing methodology to check if these policies are being implemented by frontline, due diligence officers and back office.
  3. Supervise credit risk management activities. Enhances quality and efficiency of credit risk management functions by streamlining workflow.
  4. Provide comments and formulate guidelines from credit risk management perspective for credit related projects, to support new business development (including commodities related trade financings).
  5. Provide guidance to strengthen credit monitoring of frontline, oversees credit risk of credit portfolio and keep track of changes in credit asset quality.
  6. For credit related supervisory requirement, keep good communication with supervisory authority, internal and external auditor.
  7. Supervises the review of credit applications and review obligor ratings. Also, ensures that business is guided on the drafting of a good quality credit proposal and provides an assessment and feedback to CBD on the quality of credit proposals.
  8. Monitor risk profile, keep track of changes in credit asset quality and review loan classification grades.
  9. For new business development, participate in the development process and provide comments from credit risk perspective. Promote use of new risk management methodology.
  10. Oversees the collection and reporting of credit risk information.
  11. Ensure the compliance of credit business to meet with the local regulatory and internal audit requirements, and all control measures are appropriate to the scope of job functions implemented to minimize the credit risk exposures of the Bank.
  12. To seek, participate and provide suitable training courses to enhance the development of staffs potential.
  13. Lead the assessment of Country Risk

Job Specifications:

  • At least 10 years of experience in banking industry
  • At least 8 years of experience with credit risk management
