Summary:
A leading Australian offshoring firm is seeking a highly skilled AU Senior Accountant to support a diverse portfolio of entities, including companies, trusts, and partnerships. This role requires a technical expert capable of working independently to deliver accurate, compliant, and timely financial reports with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Australian accounting standards and taxation, ensuring high-quality statutory reporting and seamless collaboration with onshore Australian teams.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and complete full sets of accounts in strict compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Prepare and lodge income tax returns for various entities, including companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Oversee end-to-end bookkeeping, BAS, IAS, and other Australian statutory reporting requirements.
- Perform detailed general ledger reconciliations and maintain integrity of financial data.
- Maintain comprehensive supporting workpapers, including depreciation schedules, accruals, and year-end adjustments.
- Identify and resolve complex accounting discrepancies independently while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate directly with Australian-based teams or clients to clarify queries and ensure the timely delivery of all financial outputs.
- Contribute to process improvements and support the implementation of best practices across accounting engagements.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or a related field; CPA license is an advantage.
- At least 4–5 years of hands-on accounting experience, with a demonstrated ability to complete full accounts and tax returns.
- Strong working knowledge of Australian accounting and taxation standards (GST, Income Tax, etc.).
- Proficiency in Xero (required) and other cloud-based accounting software is highly preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to take full ownership of assigned work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective client and stakeholder management.
Work Setup: Remote with quarterly onsite work in Eastwood)
Schedule: 7:00 AM–3:00 PM, Monday to Friday
