Job Summary:
Responsible for procurement and logistics coordination activities.
Responsibilities:
- Send Request For Quotation to vendors, analyse quotes, negotiate best terms and issue Purchase Orders in line with internal procedures.
- Conduct thorough market research to identify and evaluate potential suppliers and products.
- Expedite the vendor registration process.
- Verify the conformity of the products or services received with the concerned parties.
- Coordinate with logistics team for the recollection, delivery and clearances.
- Coordinate external / internal requests to ensure that activities are executed in a safe and timely manner.
- Vendor performance analysis as per internal process.
- Analyze market trends and competitor pricing to inform purchasing decisions.
- Prepare equipment and supplies for shipments to vessels, shore base and offices.
- Communicate with the vendors and logistics team / marine team to ensure the parts or services are coordinated as per the vessel / stakeholder requirements.
- Maintain inventory lists of materials and equipment on Yard.
- Work activity reporting on a weekly basis.
- Track and analyze purchasing data to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations.
- Manage and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, fostering collaborative and mutually beneficial partnerships.
HSEQ
- Responsible for complying with all Company Management System guidelines and policies.
- Coordinate with the vendors to ensure they understand and comply with the Company, Client, and Ship Owner safety requirements while delivering goods and services.
- Take part in the Company / Client organized safety campaigns and commit to provide a safer working environment for the team. Actively participates in ensuring a healthy and safe working environment for all and no harm is caused to the environment, company properties and most importantly the people.
- Ensure the workplace is always tidy and free of any objects which could cause harm and accidents to personnel and the environment.
- Committed to ensuring any unsafe actions, conduct, behavior are immediately reported to line management and the HSEQ department and use the STOP card process where applicable.
- Participate and contribute to all HSEQ meetings when required.
- Make suggestions on how HSEQ can be improved in any areas in the organization by sharing ideas with the relevant HSEQ employee within the designated working entity.
Skills and Requirements
- Purchasing related diploma preferred or at least good knowledge of the marine and/or shipping industry
- Problems solving skills, I.T. Knowledge Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
