Summary:

We are hiring on behalf of A maritime services company specializing in the operation and chartering of offshore support vessels, with activities spanning across key international markets, particularly in emerging offshore regions. Our client seeks an Accountant based in Cebu who is fluent in Arabic (spoken and written) to their finance team. The role is integral to the company's financial reporting, tax compliance, and audit readiness, and will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full accounting cycle including monthly, quarterly, and annual book closings.
  • Oversee fixed asset management and depreciation.
  • Handle accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions.
  • Prepare and submit tax declarations and assist in managing compliance.
  • Conduct initial reviews of Profit & Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet (B/S) accounts.
  • Prepare adjusting journal entries, perform account reconciliations, and conduct forex revaluations.
  • Set up accruals and provisions as needed.
  • Assist the Financial Controller in compiling working files for financial statements and audit requirements.
  • Support analytical reviews and financial analysis processes.
  • Liaise with the internal tax manager and external tax consultants on tax matters, under the guidance of the Financial Controller.
  • Work collaboratively with the Financial Controller to ensure timely reporting and compliance with internal deadlines and deliverables.

Qualifications:

  • Filipino citizen based in Cebu.
  • Proficiency in Arabic language (both spoken and written).
  • Strong knowledge of core accounting principles and tax regulations.
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in general accounting or financial reporting.
  • Preferred:
  • CPA license is highly preferred.
  • If not a CPA, a Bachelors degree in Management Accounting is acceptable with equivalent relevant experience.
  • Experience with audit preparation, financial statement reviews, and tax filing coordination.
  • Key Skills:
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.

Work Setup:

Shift Schedule: Dayshift

Work setup: The role operates on a hybrid arrangement, with employees reporting onsite one week and working remotely the following week, on a rotating basis.

Location: The role is based in Cebu
