Database Developer
Our client is a modern, digital insurance company offering personalized protection for individuals and families.
The Role:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining database systems that support our applications and business processes. You will ensure data integrity, performance optimization, and scalability while collaborating with other developers, data analysts, and stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Application Development
- Design and implement database schemas, tables, views, triggers, and stored procedures.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries to ensure high performance and efficiency.
- Maintain and improve existing database structures and processes.
- Implement data integration solutions to synchronize data across different systems.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and availability.
- Develop and maintain ETL / ELT processes.
- Monitor database performance, identify issues, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with software developers to integrate databases with applications.
- Conduct data analysis and provide insights to support decision-making.
- Write and maintain comprehensive documentation for database systems and processes.
- Enforce coding standards, participate in code reviews, and ensure best practices for source control management (e.g., Git, Github, Gitlab).
Incident Management
- Log, track, and manage bugs and defects using Jira as a ticketing system People and Culture Division
- Provide technical support for core applications with strong focus on Database, in collaboration with the developers to ensure timely resolution to meet service level agreements (SLAs).
- Document troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference and knowledge sharing.
- Communicate effectively with end-users, understanding their requirements, and providing clear and concise resolutions.
Collaboration
- Work closely with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to ensure seamless application deployment and operation.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to contribute to the improvement of applications and support processes.
Technical Leadership
- Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies related to backend development, and data warehouse/data lake.
- Share knowledge and provide training to colleagues, promoting a culture of continuous learning.
Qualifications:
- Proven 3+ years of experience as a Database Developer or in a similar role.
- Proven experience with data modeling and design.
- Proven experience with DW concepts, ETL tools, and processes.
- Knowledge of database performance tuning and optimization is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- ETL: SSIS, Talend
- Report: Jasper or Power BI
- IDE: SSMS, Oracle SQL Developer, Toad, Notepad++

- CI / CD: GitHub Actions, Jenkins
- Orchestration and Containerization: Docker, Kubernetes
Work Setup:
Setup: Hybrid (3X onsite per week)
