About the job Asia Business Intelligence Specialist - Hongkong
Role
Candidates will ideally have experience in due diligence, ESG and Human Rights, disputes and litigation support, political risk and/or investigative journalism. We would also be interested in hearing from candidates with other backgrounds looking for a change of career. The position offered will depend on the candidates prior experience in a field relevant to the role. Fluency in at least one key regional language is a requirement for this role. We are currently particularly interested in hearing from candidates fluent in the following: Mandarin and Korean.
Summary of Role & Key Responsibilities
- Candidates should have proven experience working in a fast-paced research environment, excellent qualitative analytical skills, and a track record of producing high quality research for use in a commercial setting.
- Candidates should have a strong knowledge of the regions business and political environments, as well as an innate sense of curiosity about international affairs, public policy and global markets more generally.
Responsibilities
- The exact responsibilities will vary depending on the role offered. However, we broadly look for the below skills when considering applicants for all our positions:
- Manage complex open source and human intelligence-led investigative assignments (including pre-transactional integrity due diligence checks and other bespoke investigations);
- Write concise and cogent reports that weave in research findings with an in-depth contextualized analysis of key issues and other pertinent findings.
- Deliver written and verbal briefings to senior management and clients on research findings.
- Prepare proposals for new business.
- Support the development of company Intelligences human source network in Asia; and
- Once comfortable with company Business Intelligences house style and research methodologies, assist in training new team members and proofreading reports.
Qualifications:
- Fluency reading and writing English in a commercial context and at least one key regional language - we are particularly interested in Mandarin or Korean.
- 1-6 years full-time post-graduate work experience in the corporate intelligence industry and/or another relevant investigative background.
- Experience using open-source research tools such as LexisNexis and Factiva, as well as regional and language-specific databases and media sources.
- Ability to plan and manage multifaceted research projects from the proposal stage to delivering our work to the client.
- A working knowledge of financial, commercial and legal concepts.
- A bachelors degree in a relevant field from an accredited university; and
- Professional proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.
Work Set-up:
- Working hours: 9:00 - 6:00 PM
- Location: Hongkong
- Set-up: Office based at least four days a week during the probation period
