Workday HCM Reporting Analyst

A Workday HCM Reporting Analyst is responsible for creating, managing, and maintaining reports within Workday Human Capital Management (HCM). This role typically involves working with data related to workforce management, absence and time-tracking, recruiting, talent management, and other human resources functions.

Here are some of the key responsibilities and tasks associated with the role of a Workday HCM Reporting Analyst:

1. Report Creation & Management:

  • Building custom reports and dashboards based on requirements within Workday meet business needs.
  • Using Workday's Report Writer and EIB (Enterprise Interface Builder) to create and manage reports.
  • Analysing and interpreting data to provide actionable insights to HR, finance, and leadership teams.

2. System Configuration & Optimization:

  • Collaborating with other HRIS team members to configure and optimize Workday HCM to ensure the reporting system is working effectively.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues with report generation, data security or data accuracy.

3. Compliance & Security:

  • Ensuring reports are built in compliance with privacy regulations and organizational security standards.
  • Managing access control for reports together with the Security Lead, ensuring that sensitive data is only visible to authorized users.

4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

  • Working closely with HR, Technology, and business leaders to understand their reporting needs and requirements.
  • Translating business requirements into functional reports or data extracts.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday: Familiarity with Workday HCM module, especially Workday Report Writer and EIB.
  • Report Writing: Knowledge of report-building tools and techniques in Workday.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to present report requirements clearly for sign-off.
  • HR Process Knowledge: Understanding of HR functions and processes, such as payroll, benefits, recruiting, and talent management.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring data integrity and accuracy in all reports.
  • Experience with Prism reporting would also be desirable.
