About the job Modern Data Platforms Informatica - Consultant/Architect
MDP Informatica Developer/Architect
The Informatica Architect / Consultant / Developer role sits within the Modern Data Platform (MDP) domain and is central to delivering enterprise-grade data transformation outcomes for our clients. This role supports the design, build and evolution of governed, scalable and insight-ready data platforms, helping organisations move from fragmented and low-trust data environments to modern ecosystems that improve decision quality, strengthen governance and accelerate value realisation.
Success in this role requires a combination of strong Informatica capability, disciplined delivery execution and the ability to engage credibly with both technical and business stakeholders. Working across architecture, engineering and program teams, you will help shape practical, fit-for-purpose solutions that connect trusted data to strategic outcomes, support major transformation initiatives and enable clients to operate with greater confidence, efficiency and future readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Skills, Experience and Competencies
- Design and deliver modern data platform solutions using Informatica across data integration, ingestion, quality, governance, lineage and master/reference data capabilities.
- Translate business and reporting requirements into scalable data designs, reusable integration patterns and implementation roadmaps aligned to IP&SI delivery methods.
- Define solution architecture, data flows, mappings, transformation logic, controls and non-functional requirements for enterprise data programs.
- Lead or contribute to data platform modernisation initiatives including migration from legacy warehouses and siloed data environments to cloud-based, governed platforms.
- Implement and optimise Informatica services for data ingestion, ETL/ELT, data quality, metadata management, catalogue, lineage and governance workflows.
- Work closely with architects, engineers, analysts, testers, PMO and client stakeholders to ensure requirements traceability, delivery quality and operational readiness.
- Embed security, privacy, access controls and auditability into data solutions in line with governance and compliance expectations.
- Support estimation, planning, design assurance, testing, deployment, hypercare and continuous improvement activities across the delivery lifecycle.
- Contribute to reusable assets, accelerators, standards and reference patterns that improve consistency, speed and quality across the MDP practice.
Technical Skills
- Hands-on experience with Informatica products relevant to enterprise data platforms, such as Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC), PowerCenter, Data Quality, Data Governance and Catalog, Master Data Management, Cloud Data Integration, Cloud Application Integration and Metadata Command Center.
- Strong understanding of modern data platform concepts including cloud-native architecture, data lakes/lakehouse patterns, batch and real-time ingestion, data warehousing and analytics enablement.
- Experience designing source-to-target mappings, transformation rules, reusable pipelines, data quality rules, lineage and governance controls.
- Knowledge of data architecture, modelling, metadata management, master/reference data, data cataloguing and data lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in SQL and strong understanding of relational, semi-structured and unstructured data processing patterns.
- Experience integrating enterprise platforms and cloud ecosystems, including data sources such as ERP, CRM, HCM, SaaS and operational systems.
- Working knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code and controlled release practices for data platform delivery.
- Understanding of data security, privacy, access controls, auditability and regulatory considerations in enterprise data solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms and analytics ecosystems such as Microsoft Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or similar is advantageous.
